Freestyle Photographic Supplies is proud to recognize Mr. Joseph Small as the winner of the sixth annual Freestyle Crystal Apple Award for Outstanding Achievement in Black & White Photography. Mr. Small is a first year graduate student at the University of Notre Dame, and is an emerging artist of considerable talent. He was presented with a scholarship check of $5,000.00 on March 27th at the Society of Photographic Education (SPE) 2009 National Conference held in Dallas, Texas.

Entries now being accepted for Krappy Kamera 11 August 26, 2008

Soho Photo Gallery of New York City has announced its Eleventh National Juried "Krappy Kamera" Competition. Juror Brian Paul Clamp will select approximately 50 prints to be included in a month-long exhibition at the Soho Photo Gallery in March, 2009.

SMC Students Visit Carmel, California!

On Saturday, March 29th, 2008, fifty-four students and eight instructors from Santa Monica College gathered in scenic Carmel, California, for a panel discussion of photography featuring four of the highest-regarded photographers in the country. Freestyle Advisory Board members Henry Gilpin, Richard Garrod and Huntington Witherill, along with noted photographer Al Weber, entertained the enthusiastic crowd, which was thrilled to soak up the musings of these sages of photography. The event was put together by Jan Pietrzak and Santa Monica College faculty members. Jan Pietrzak is an adjunct faculty member at Santa Monica College and also a Freestyle Advisory Board Member.
